No Wheelchairs

A few nice wheelchair images I found:

This sign reminded me of the one behind Theatre Arts at UCSC. It’s the way it seems to say "Hey you.. you in the wheelchair… Get Lost."

Context:
Right behind this sign, next to the theatre at West Valley college, is a paved footpath going uphill. Fine for walking, dangerously steep for a wheelchair.

So I can see what happened here. They needed a sign to say "No Disabled Access. Wheelchairs not permitted" to keep their less-abled patrons from becoming suddenly lesser-abled.. but all they had were generic "Wheelchair-Man" signs.

Thier Solution: Draw a red line on a Wheelchair sign.

Better solution: Attach an arrow to the (not crossed out) wheelchair to show where the disabled access is, not where it isn’t.

This odd combination of decals are on the exit door of a local store. Either they are trying to be helpful and remind wheelchair-bound people how their chair works, or else the subtext is "in case of emergency push to open – and roll like mad."
